Booking terms

Plain-English terms for booking a drive through RaceCarsHire. Last updated 3 July 2026.

1. How a booking works

You enquire about a listing. The team confirms availability with you directly. Your booking is locked in once your deposit is paid. The balance is payable to the team before you drive unless the team agrees otherwise in writing.

2. Deposits

A deposit of 20% of the listed price secures your date. Deposits are processed securely through Stripe; RaceCarsHire never stores your card details. Your deposit confirms you accept these terms plus the team's own hire agreement.

3. Cancellations and rescheduling

Cancel 14 or more days before your date and your deposit is refunded in full. Cancel within 14 days and the deposit may be retained by the team, since a late cancellation usually means the car sits idle. If you need to move a date, teams will generally reschedule you once at no cost where the calendar allows.

4. Weather and track closures

If the circuit closes or the team calls the day off (weather, track conditions, mechanical failure before you drive), you get a full refund or a new date, your choice. Rain alone does not cancel a test day; driving in the wet is part of the training.

5. Damage and excess

Every team sets a damage excess for their car and it is stated before you pay anything. You are liable up to that excess for damage caused while you are driving. You sign the team's damage agreement before you get in the car. Mechanical failures that are not driver-induced are the team's responsibility.

6. Licences and eligibility

You must hold the licence level stated on the listing (or complete the licence the team arranges) and follow all circuit and category rules. Teams may refuse to run a driver on safety grounds; if that happens before you drive for a reason within your control, the deposit may be retained.

7. Motorsport risk

Motorsport is dangerous. You participate at your own risk and will be required to sign the circuit's and the team's waivers on the day. RaceCarsHire is a marketplace; the team providing the car is responsible for the vehicle, the crew and the on-track activity.

8. Contact

Questions about a booking go to the team first. Questions about these terms or a payment go to RaceCarsHire via the enquiry form on any listing.
